At 96 Country Way in picturesque Scituate, sat a less than lovely and rather drab house. It needed… something. An update, to start, new appliances, for sure. How about floors, fixtures, and – well, what every house needs – family. This is when our very own John Heffernan and Jameson Lee stepped in. They saw the potential this house had, and with that, they were underway! Those guys decided a rehab was in order, a new kitchen, 2 new bathrooms, beautifully refinished maple wood floors, crisp new windows, and stunning granite in the kitchen as well as in the downstairs bar. With central AC, and three different heating zones, this house is ready to keep its family comfortable in any weather.
A house that resides in the beautiful town of Scituate sure is a lucky one. It is a cozy coastal town with a wealth of history and several notable landmarks, such as the William-Barker house built in 1634, which still stands near the harbor. Te town also boasts Old Scituate Lighthouse with its story about the “American Army of Two” and even Fourth Cliff Military Reservation which protected, not only the shores of Scituate, but America’s Coastline during WWII. Not only is Scituate known for its ocean views, but also its farms, museums, recreation and preservation areas. The town also has some fantastic spots for dining, shopping, and relaxing. A great place to go out and explore the roads winding by the ocean, through the forested areas and by countryside; all of which host pleasingly scenic views. So what family wouldn’t want to have a home here?
Getting back to the now striking house listed by John on Country Way. Having its 2,000 square feet of living space refreshed, being tied into the town sewer, and having a new driveway, make its half-acre corner lot much more usable and fresh. With those new windows, recessed lighting, and fantastic open rooms this house is now bright, comfortable, airy, and ready to hit the market place running. Just like that, 96 Country Way was SOLD! It went for a steal at just under $500,000, but more importantly 96 Country Way was no longer just a house waiting. With the addition of a Sold sign out front, it became a home to be loved and personalized. Congratulations to John and Jameson, congratulations to the new owners, and congratulations to the home!
